Tell us about your Alfa drag or track race

To all Alfisti, tell us about that thrilling drag race or track race you had, that ignited the exact same reason why you bought and were attracted to these baby Ferraris in the first place, tell us about the memorable runs you had against your friends machines, that still up to this very day gets brought up around gatherings,be it racing or even around the fire...let us hear your victories and defeats if any...

One of those special moments were against a white VW golf mk2 16v top end run coming from town on the N2,we were matched in weight ,because I had 3 occupants in my baby and he had 3, and anybody in South Africa will tell you that these GTIs have cult status here ,so I was cruising along the N2 when I noticed this dude sitting on my tail ,i pulled to the left lane and this dude followed ,I then decided I am going to have a little fun with my baby and see if these so called Dubz are realy that fast as the Vw drivers claim ,I then dropped down to 3rd and started flooring the pedal immediatley the vw took chase ,this continued til about +-100-120 kmph on the speedo before slipping into 4th gear, when I changed gear soon after I could feel the 40 weber carburator opening up nsync with the throttle I was delivering, immediatley i could feel and see a difference because slowly i was moving away from the gti, I eventually reached +-140 - 160 and 2 and half car distance away from the GTI ,when I moved into 5th gear ,this is when the mighty 2l 8v dohc twin 40s showed its wrath and instantly started moving away from the GTI at a dramatic pace like 5 car spaces ,at this time the GTV was starting to feel abit flimsy and did not want to take it over the 210kmph speedo mark ,I then took my foot off the throttle and and started slowing down and then the GTI caught up soon after like about roughly 3 to 5 seconds later. where he paid his Respect to the mighty Italian Stallion by flickering lights and hooting before turning off to pinelands near the late Athlone Cooling Towers...
