Running aftermarket rad fan!!!

Preparing my 2.5V6 only for trackdays use, and bought slim and light rad fan which i'll control manually.
My question is about wires and relays unused by original fan. Can i remove it from it's connector, without the ECU entering some kind of "safe mode" when they not connected.
Notice on my 2.0TS that when wires not connected, ecu show error, and on V6 tyhat error did not appears.
Opinions?
