Autodelta Tuning

Just had this operation on me 2.4JTDM & can't honestly notice any difference! Paid an extra 80 quid (on top of the £395) for the 50 pence Chinese chat remote control unit aswell!! & I can't tell if it's switched on or off! It's supposed to give an extra 48Bhp which should surely make a marked difference! Anybody else with similar experience, or could it be that Mangoletsi simply forgot to 'activate it' (which really wouldn't surprise me! ).

Re: Autodelta Tuning

Interesting as I'm about to take an autodelta map as part of the deal...just tryng to find out more and this is a good bit on information.

Typically though you should be able to notice it, certinaly with a boost guage, but some of it will deplend on your driving style.

AS I don't actually own a 2.4 yet, I can only comment from my 1.8turbo experince, but that is noticable for 180 to 210>, smoother, more torque and response.

Re: Autodelta Tuning

Well I'd certainly save yourself £80 on the remote control if you decide to go ahead! I'd also seriously think about NOT informing your insurance company about the upgrade...I was mislead that it was a physical add-on upgrade so informed my insurance company...with almost double premiums!! Turns out it's an ECU upgrade by some geek on a laptop, so the insurance company would be none the wiser in the event of an accident.

Re: Autodelta Tuning

I'd not take that path actually. Having run modified cars for a number of years and seeing what lengths insurers will go to in order to not pay.

Although the ecu upgrade it he least obvious upgrade on a pile of bent metal. Well murhpy's law would dictate things for me...

As to the hike, it depends on your insurance company, age and alot of factors. I remember once direct line said it was fine, no hike for a remap because it was not on the list of options. This was when it was the norm to @chip@ a car. I'd try the likes of adrian flux, chris knott and a few other specialist brokers, you can always cancel/move.

Uh oh.........

Mangos serviced my car and the timing was out on my engine by the time they'd finished.

That mob couldn't even be bothered to call me back!
I ended up getting it for around £850 (after some quotes of thousands) which I didn't think was outrageous as the renewal quote on standard spec.was about £600.

I won't be going near that lot again!!
It seems once you have signed on the dotted line & they have your hard earned they couldn't give a hoot!
You would think they are extremely busy with the length of time it takes to return a phone call...if they can be bothered...but when you call in there's loads of staff moaping around, seemingly with nothing to do!
Business must be good.
