The Sound of the TwinSpark - Aftermarket exhaust

Now alot people always seem to ask "What does a TwinSpark sound like with a sports exhaust?", now there are alot of Afla Exhaust videos and clips on youtube but 9 out 10 times its either a 2.5 V6 or a 3.2 V6 GTA.

So having a Twinny myself I have decided to start this thread with links to youtube to aswner peoples questions about exhausts mainly for the TwinSpark engine rather than V6 either 2.5 or 3.2

This one is a Ragazzon Oval on a 156 (cc unknown, layout unknow)

Ragazzon on a 2.0ltr reckon just back box (but not sure)

another Ragazzon on a 2.0ltr this time a DTM tailpipe (again not sure of layout)

This time a Supersprint twin on a 147 TS (sounds like just the back box)

Another Supersprint on a 147 this time a oval but this one clear shows how well silenced some euro back boxes can be

This is a nice one, a GTV 2.0ltr with a Ragazzon quad exit and sounds very nice

It might seem like I have just selected one brand - Ragazzon, but when you sift through the V6 stuff there isnt alot of Twinny stuff and it mainly seems to be Ragazzon stuff. It makes it harder as some people dont put on the cc of the car on the clip.

I hope this proves helpful as the TwinSpark has quite a different sound compared to other engines of the same cc and layout. Just goes to prove its worth investing in a desent back box or cat back system for any of the 3 cc TwinSpark engines 1.6/1.8/2.0

Here are few useful exhaust links if your interested in spending abit of cash on a new exhaust for your Twinny

Re: The Sound of the TwinSpark - Aftermarket exhaust

Like I said, there alot of people out there who might fancy a aftermarket box for a TwinSpark but are not sure of what they sound like.

Its good we got a more than just say a 156 with a few different boxes.

Hope this helps people

Re: The Sound of the TwinSpark - Aftermarket exhaust

CSC can be had from UK supplier EB Spares or from EU suppliers like Alfisti.net

Very popular choice with UK owners the CSC, most 4pot owners go for the single oval as EB Spares don't list the twin for the 4pot but it is available, with most V6 owners going for a twin.

Ragazzon with no silencers on a 146 Ti sounds good, very loud though! Soon have a de-cat and supersprint manifold fitted as well so I'll post a clip...

Re: The Sound of the TwinSpark - Aftermarket exhaust

Its worth noting its hard to judge what a Back box or system will sound like without viewing one on the same cc car as yours.

Also its always hard to judge how much difference losing the centre box will make to the system as yes it WILL increase noise levels but alot depends on the back box you are currently sporting.

Decats will def increase noise another bar as the cat acts like another silencer in the system so if your thinking about a single box layout (just back box) with a decat I'd really expect to get some attention and the danager with this is if you attact the attention of the Old Plod and they look closely or give you a provider to vist a MoT station to have the car checked you will either have to refit your cat or fail the test and get told off

Imo decats are best of track cars as they basically drive to the track, run, then come home.

As for whether manifold changes add any increase or change is open to debate to be honest.

Re: The Sound of the TwinSpark - Aftermarket exhaust

ah nice, this is such a handy thread, as I need a new exhaust, and at £110 minimum for a new standard stock exhaust, I might aswell go for an after market stainless jobbie.

Re: The Sound of the TwinSpark - Aftermarket exhaust

Good to see people posting their TwinSpark exhausts up here, keep up the good work people as this helps other owners decide what exhaust system to go for on their car, not to mention showing off your own exhaust system.

If people could also post links and recommendations of the service that they used as well that would be very helpful too.

Thanks guys and girls
