Re: Now ready for a tune up

Its easiest to fit it from below.. You can do it from above but you'll need to take out the battery and tray, move those relays etc..

Re: Now ready for a tune up

when I fit the cda do I need to run the engine without the maf connected (ie remove completely). Prettysure I read somewhere about oil from the filter damaging the Maf but I could be thinking about the wrong product.

Looking forward to tomorrow....getting the lower strut brace fitted and the cda done.

Many thanks

Yes, you need to do this, just to clear the excess oil. Best way to do it is attach the CDA directly to the pipe leaving the throttle body. Make sure the MAF is unplugged AS WELL AS removed. If it is removed from the intake tract but still plugged in the car will not idle or run.

Re: Now ready for a tune up

ok ....ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
can get the filter in but when I go to run the inlet pipe(the one that fits on the bottom of the airfilter) it is to low. The pipe which came with the cda is too inflexible to bend. So how did you guys get round this???????

Re: Now ready for a tune up

its all done......
the inlet pipe is a *****
The strut is also on.
What a difference that strut makes, what a sound that filter makes.....
well pleased
car drives like its on rails and the filter as made the throttle responce better (if only slightly)

well chuffed

Thanks for the help

Did my pic help?

For anyone else interested in fitting the CDA, this is how you do it:

Re: Now ready for a tune up

thanks for the pics . They did comfirm that I had done it right.
The problem I was having was the cold air inlet pipe. The one supplied caused me loads of problems( any chance of a photo of yours Pud?). It is all sorted now though.

I would suggest to everyone to get a strut brace though. Has made a major difference to the handling of the car.

Many thanks for all your help people.
