Re: The Q2...
Thats not bad, Autolusso do seem to come highly recommended, did you go for the conversion due to a problem or just because you wanted to? Either way, seems like an excellent decision.

Re: The Q2...
I wonder how much it is for the 2.5 V6 156, must be a massively worthy upgrade of any 156 to be honest,

Well I was going to have it done regardless this month...
However my diff was on it's way out so it was just as well I had a problem that meant the car was with Autolusso earlier than planned.

Re: The Q2...
It was making a horrible rattly noise on idle!! (which we originally thought was the gearbox)
When the diff was taken out this was confirmed as the diff. both side cogs were loose and there was a crack in one of the shafts..
(if that makes any sense.. . sorry)

Re: The Q2...
because the front wheels dont go half as beserk when you put the power down on a hard corner!
The diff allows the outside wheel to grip more...

Re: The Q2...
Amazing, in a way its a shame Alfa didnt do these things to start with but in a way, also glad they didnt, as this is the kinda thing that makes Alfa enthusiasts!

It would be the same price, as its the exact same unit..
Really glad you're happy with it Joe.. I think the Q2 really makes the GTA 'complete'.

Re: The Q2...
Q2 Definately on my list, but thinking (I have only owned this car for a month), cambelt last changed 08/2005 @ 52,282 miles, now done 93,500 miles?? front anti roll bar linkage need doing, rest of suspension ok, air con capput (nothing wrong with compressor etc but hose needs replacing). All normal problems I suppose, should I keep this car and improve or buy a lower mileage one for more money (I paid £7,000, really is in excellent cond, 1 good owner)

It's so popular, everyone will have one. That means we early adopters can't play the smug susan anymore.....
No downsides whatsoever that I can see. It's very cost effective, improves handling significantly and can prevent diff problems (esp it would appear in the 147 GTA). For once, we can have jam on it.
Joe, glad you like it. I was flying around some of my favourite twisty bits last night loving the Q2 and was glad of the PF pads when a fox jumped out in front of me. Certainly burnt off any glazing with that stop. Great combination of mods, thanks Ned and Autolusso.
Cheers,
Nigel

Re: The Q2...
Not really
A smidgin of extra torque steer on uneven roads if pushing, but balanced against less torque steer on any other type of road and far better mechanical traction and control around corners.
For heavily modified cars the extra torque steer on very bumpy roads might be more noticable than when compared to a clutch type LSD which doesn't have instantaneous torque transfer as load changes on the wheels and will resist spinning up a single wheel better..
The Q2 is silent and unobtrusive for normal driving and is as tough as nails.
At that price it really is a no brainer..

I'm not a doctor - but I really do recommend braking later
