Keep it, get the Q2 diff ASAP and the belts again as soon as you can afford it, that's what I'd say. Then the car will be sorted and you'll have no niggling worries.

Re: The Q2...
Does fitting the Q2 involve removing the gearbox? The local main dealer hasn't done the job before and guestimated it would be about £1k, since removing the gearbox is a 10 hour job.

Re: The Q2...
Nope, gearbox doesn't have to be removed for it.
Just got mine back having had the gearbox rebuilt as well and now it's spot on, silky smooth

No it doesn't. And £1000? RUN! To your nearest independent who knows what they're doing!

DO NOT take it to your dealer! They clearly sound like they don't have a clue what to do. Take yourself away to Bedfordshire for the day and get AutoLusso to do it, or at least some other experienced independent..

I've had the Q2 on my GTV V6 for about a year - fitted by AlfaAid, along with lightweight clutch.
Only downside is a slight agricultural sound if you put your foot down at low revs in a high gear. So, basically, no, no downsides.

Re: The Q2...
The only downside I've encountered is that I can't decide where to stick the damn badge

Good idea. What badges do you normally get on the GTA?
At the mo I have:
156-\------------------------/-V6-24v
I'm thinking of:
156-\-Q2----------------3.0-/-V6-24v
What do you guys think?

Re: The Q2...
Pud, your car would be well confusing for some people...3.0 written on the back, 3.2 written under the bonnet and 2.5 written elsewhere.
Personally, I just wouldnt bother with any Q2 badges on the back or the side.
Saying that though ive got 2 cloverleaf badges i'm going to put on the side, below the side repeaters so i'm kind of contradicting myself.
If I dont like them though, i'll take them off.

Tacky Put it on the back somewhere. just to the left of the GTA on the boot lid worked for me. Looks OK IMO.
Cheers,
Nigel

Thats what I thought as well, but I temporarily stuck the Q2 badge on and it looked unbalanced.. That was the reason I took off the 2.5 badge, as there was nothing on the left hand side of the boot lid.

No 2.5 badges on it anymore
The cloverleaf badges look cool.. I totally debadged my previous JTD which looked good as well, but for some reason I don't wanna do it to this one.
What about :
--Q2--\---------------------------/-3.0-V6-

Its obviously cos you were embarrased it was a diesel.
and now youre proud of your V6 power.
When I had it I liked the fact that 2.5 badges were on the back because some people got lulled into a false sense of security. Loved that.

Re: The Q2...
I'm tempted to have just the Q2 on the far right and nothing else, then again I'm also tempted to have Just V6 Q2, with the Q2 in place of the 24v and removing the 156 and 2.5.
I've also finally got a little Italian flag (had a £5 ebay voucher to use up so thought I'd try them out...) so might have that in place of the '156' on the left......
So many choices!!

Yours is the burnt orangey coloured GTA isn't it? I saw it at Chatham and Brooklands and thought the badge looked pretty good there
Mine's going to look far too busy without remvoing some badges though - 156 Q2 2.5 V6 24V - bit of a mouthful

Thanks Nicky, it is indeed the one (miro red they call it...). Everyone seems to spot the Q2 badge there, so I think it's a good place for it!
Cheers,
Nigel
