156 ts 2.0 brakes

Put a set of Brembo max disks on the front end of the car at the weekend, with mintex pads. Whilst just scrubbing in at the moment, the car now stops when asked! What a result and very cost effective.

Next month the rears with a similar set up and then a remap to cure the crap initial cold running and 3000 rpm surge.

Re: 156 ts 2.0 brakes

you will always get the surge at 3000 its the 'alfa magic'... its to do with the inlet tract switching to a more performance orientated length. a remap may raise power below this so its less noticable but a well done remap should raise it after too so you will still get the surge in power. initial cold running - fit some cooler spark plugs, give it a service and use a thinner oil. wont fix it but will reduce the time it takes to heat up!

where will you be going for the remap? if you are near the northeast and are going to use angel tuning ask them if you can be set up at VSport on the rolling road. dave (vsport owner) works closely with angel tuning and tweaks the map to suit your car all for the same price of a standard angel map.

as for brakes - i upgraded my fronts to Black diamonds and fitted Ds2500 pads, rears i went for EBC standard disks with DS2500 pads and the stopping power was fantastic. more than matched my current APRacing 305mm setup on 4pots! cant wait till i have the need to upgrade these to drilled disks and DS2500s
