147JTD 8v - intercooler pipe failure

Two days before one crack (approx. 5cm length) on the intercooler pipe was appear. Is it because of the turbine pressure increase (1.4bar in remap procedure) or due to time deterioration of the pipe, it is dilemma?
Old (original) and new (internal diameter 55mm, length 850mm) pipe and the new (replacement) pipe on its place is shown in pictures bellow.
What are opinions about the reason of this pipe failure?
Thanks in advance and best regards. Dusan.

Re: 147JTD 8v - intercooler pipe failure

Hello Petko,
What is real problem with this replacement pipe: aesthetic, performance or both?

I know this pipe is not good styling example, but for 40€ and with 2 days for delivery I resolve my problem. The original pipe I must wait 2 weeks and pay approx. 120€.
This cheap replacement pipe seems for me stronger in compare with original expensive pipe. I will apply stainless steel pipe (see picture) if this cheap replacement pipe fails again under larger pressure (1.4bar in my actual remap). Is it stainless pipe is the best solution according to aesthetic requests? No doubt, but in this moment I wont safe, quick and cheap (of engineer's kind, therefore) solution.

On the other side, is it performance problem? The cheap replacement pipe is too flexible and with inner ribbed structure and may be resist the free-flow of air from the intercooler. The stainless steel pipe is smooth and in that sense it is better solution.
Have you any suggestion?
Best regards from Dušan
