Alfa GTV V6 Remap?

Hi Guys,

Has any of you remapped a 3.0 V6 24v 6 Speed? How much BHP and Torque did you have before and after, also are there any other small mods that you have done and proved successful on rolling road.

Thanks

Re: Alfa GTV V6 Remap?

My 156 has a GTV engine, with a Dastek Unichip mapped for 97 octane fuel, and with a BMC CDA it made 245bhp. Thats also with the exhaust manifolds from a 2.5 V6..

Re: Alfa GTV V6 Remap?

Actually, regarding the manifolds I'm not sure if there is a difference between engine sizes. Its whether its Euro 2 or Euro 3 emissions compliant that matters. If your car is Euro 3, it will have cats in the exhaust manifolds. If its euro 2 it won't..

Chris155 on here has fitted euro 2 manifolds (from a vintage 156 2.5 V6) to his 156 (which has a GTA engine) apparently this helps a lot with top end power.

Ah, I've already got em then.. The beauty of having a less environmentally conscious car! Does removing the main cat make a difference too then?

Yeah it will do.. Its something I thought about, but as I already have a straight through centre section I was worried about the noise. I enquired at my local PowerFlow about the price of getting a silenced de-cat pipe made up and they wanted £110 I think, said no chance, robbin' barstewards

Re: Alfa GTV V6 Remap?

I think mine may have been remapped as it revs up to 7200, whereas am I right in thinking 7000 is the usual limit??
