Re: Remaping Suffolk
Yup agreed... DMF can normally handle bigger power/torque than that but personally I'd go for a pad and disc upgrade and suspension change !!

Yeah, the website is an 'off the shelf' job, and isn't running correctly, then there's the fact that the guy who runs it has set it up as an individual rather than a company!!!
According to another forum (A chip tuning one), the owner is sourcing his equipment from a company which the forum have been asked not to deal with... Doesn't sound like a place where I'd want to get my car done...

Re: Remaping Suffolk
I was just wondering about the effect on DMF's, in particular, as they are primarily a sort of damper arrangement, not required for SI engines, and I have read a few reports of them being an expensive component to replace? More so than a solid flywheel. Still, if they are as durable as you say they are, fair enough. :

All will be revealed once OA has had a chance to look through what I've found. I don't want to put any names in, as I don't want any come back on this site...

Re: Remaping Suffolk
Won't that sort of power/torque destroy the clutch within a very short period of time if standard?!
Cheers,

Everyone has to start somewhere though Joe..
(Wouldn't let them start on my car though! )

I probably would as well. I reckon it'll be nothing more than an eBay map, some of which are good, some of which aren't. A lot of them are old Red Dot maps, or old Angel maps which have long since been improved upon..

I haven't seen LT either. P-Box is supposedly good, if I had a car in warranty I would use a P-Box rather than a remap.

I don't think those power claims are quite realistic. I wonder if these cars actually make the 200bhp claimed as standard, the only standard one I've seen rolling roaded made 185bhp, and about 230bhp or so after Red Dot remapped it..

Back on the road: Alfa 156 3.0 24v V6, Silver with red leather, Q2 diff, 17" GTA Teledials, headlights & inlet manifold, AutoDelta carbon intake,
SuperSprint exhaust, Dastek Unichip & FK coilovers - my 245bhp beast!
Gone but not forgotten: Alfa 156 2.4 JTD Veloce, Vela Blu, Angel 'mad map' & BMC CDA, Ferodo DS2500s - the fastest tractor in town!

Re: Remaping Suffolk
because a few people suspected that you were working for this tuning company. Only because the first two posts you made could of been perceived as adverts.

Re: Remaping Suffolk
Now I know it's boring, boring, OH! so boring, but that's what I liked about the turboed power with my old Ex. Frightened the pants off me sometimes, and really great as a final fling as a boy racer, on a limited budget Nice to have a Maser, or a big Porker, or a??? well, no something standard will do now, as the nest egg is not big enough, or is it? : Go for something with all the Ooomph! built in already, if I were a young 'Fastard' again, just my opinion, so keep on a' tunin' chaps if it pleases you, but don't blow too many up.
