Wizard of NOS

Would a nitrox system cause any problem with Alfa VDC? If the VDC system detected a need to reduce throttle, would the nox continue pumping into the engine?

Just if you read the blurb on Nitros kits it says the sh*t will the fan if the rev limiter activates, which made me think that the nos must keep flowing?

Bit of a show stopper if VDC activiation would increase your speed not decrease at a critical moment!!?

Re: Wizard of NOS

the wizard kits only operate at 100% throttle so no, it wouldnt cause issues with the VDC. you should avoide hitting the limiter at the best of times, on nitrous you must not hit the limiter at WOT with the nitrous injecting as it will continue to inject whilst the fuel will be cut. not good.

my advice would be to switch the VDC off when running nitrous

ps. i run the wizards streetblast 150i kit on my MG and it is superb, very smooth delivery and crazy powerful - brilliant fun. im only running a 50hp shot

Re: Wizard of NOS

Yes whats the difference between the different kits, i notice its like 150i2 etc? How are they different from the 150i?

Did you get colder iridum sparks fitted, and are you running on fully synthetic oil, is that necessary?

Fitter said with my engine i could safely go for 75 to 100 bhp following getting to know the system with increments of 25bhp........! Imagaine that 240bhp out of my 1.8 , gonna hit me wallet for £1200 though......

Re: Wizard of NOS

the 150i kit is single point, the 150i2 i believe is twin point injection. the 150i kit is good for a 150bhp increment so i say thats all you need!

you MUST fit a grade cooler sparks for every 50bhp gain you add. i run a grade 7 plug rather than the stock grade 6.

if you want to go for more than 50hp you really aught to fit a bottle heater and you must fit a progressive controller. 50hp on my 1.8 is unreal tho and is a good balance between power and bottle life.

150i kit direct is about £600 delivered, for a 50 shot add another £12 for the larger jets. prog con is about £250 and heater about £150. at a 50shot you wouldnt need a controller or heater tho and believe me its great fun!

have a look at the other thread for some pictures of my install and a rolling road printout comparing with and without nitrous. making about a 40hp gain and an extra 50ftlb torque across the rev range and now running 5.1s to 60mph! thats from a 1.8 NA also

Re: Wizard of NOS

Wouldn't mind a 50bhp shot on my V6.. Needs to be able to stop first though, and the brakes are expensive enough!

Re: Wizard of NOS

stevie... did you get this booked in?

I know there is a 159 1.8 getting the wizard treatment very soon, is this yours?

what setup have you gone for? I trust if your going for 75/100 gain you have went the full whack and gone bottle heater and controller too?! noice!
