Re: latest prices on q2 diffs?

EB Spares have got the Q2 for £260 exc VAT. I'm not sure how that compares though to others.

Cheers,

Mark

shims are to get it to fit in the housing correctly - by the sounds of it not many people are fitting them? eb sell them for £21 for a set.
alfa main dealer is quoting £260 incl vat - cant beat that at the moment!

Re: latest prices on q2 diffs?

You must fit the shims to get the correct per-load on the bearings.

It is not a job I would recommend anyone tackles at home on your drive

There is also a 6% price increase next week, the diffs will go up at least by this amount if not more.

No you can’t. I have a 3.0 166 here having an auto box put in, what a nightmare job.

What is the reason forit not be able to fit onto a auto box? Guess that one less thing for me to do on the old q-system

The q-system just uses a totally different gearbox. Sort of like how a square peg doesn't fit in a round hole, there's no real explanation for it other than size and shape.

Its a shame as its a fantastic bit of kit

Re: latest prices on q2 diffs?

Ordered my Q2 and shim kit yesterday. My box only has 4000 miles on it so hopefully i can reuse the bearings. Total was £ 281.04 inc the vodka and tonic at my local alfa dealership.

It is impossible to reuse the bearings, you will see what I mean when you take it apart

Re: latest prices on q2 diffs?

Thanks for the info Ned. It'll be a while till i get chance to swap the diff over, i'll sort the bearing supply nearer the time. Just wanted to make sure i got the diff before Alfa up their Q2 prices.
