Strut Braces on a 1800cc

Although I don't pick my 156 up till next weekend one of the first things I'd like to do is get a strut brace on it. I've been flicking through a Demon Tweeks book (expensive but handy for ref) and they list a front upper and lower brace plus one for the rear by Sparco, but only list the 2.0 TwinSpark.

Does the 2.0 have slightly different suspension to the 1.6 and 1.8? or is there something in the engine bay that is in the way of the brace on th e 1.6 and 1.8?

Cheers

It will fit straight on any TS 156.
It will also fit the V6, but usually blocks access to the power-steering tank.

Technically its 1747cc too - closer to being a 1.7 than a 1.8. Not that it matters, its still a cracking engine

So apart from that its a direct fit - great stuff. Does anyone else list for the 156? Omp?

A few people do them, but i suppose you have to ask, why do you want one?..

I was very impressed with the difference both upper and lower braces made to my current car and would like to do the same with my upcoming car which I'm picking up this coming weekend.

Re: Strut Braces on a 1800cc

I looked at a rear one tonight from alfisti.net but it need the body work drilled to fit, not sure about that just yet.

Are the 156's twichy at the back when pushed or is the back fine when pushed.

Omp are normally a tad cheaper than Sparco and others so Id probally go with Omp again.

The back end is fine and given that the rear brace is mounted using self-tapping bolts it can't be doing much anyway. So I wouldn't bother.

It also blocks off a lot of boot space.

Good point, I could understand if it mounted onto the suspension tops like the front does (like some hatchbacks are able to do) but just screwed lol

Welding probally would offer greater strength but I think I'll give that one a miss
