Sport Springs for 147 JTD 8v
The never ending quest of tuning my bella is still on and it will probably be like that for some time to come.
I finally have decided to go for sports springs.
I am looking at the Eibach Pro-Kit which should lower the car by about 30mm. BUT the problem is which ones are the best for the JTD???
Looking at that web page
Eibach Pro Kits - Eibach Springs Online
They are 3 different models
I already have powerflex all around and Koni-FSD on the car.
Are H&R better then Eibach...

Re: Sport Springs for 147 JTD 8v
The EIBACH website you posted is chaotic but if you look closer, they offer actually only 2 sets of springs for 147.
These are NOT springs, only additional indicators to be put on the bumper. This is because of EU regulation, if you drop 147, the indicators get below the law limit and you have to install additional ones. But nobody controls this except German MOT.

Re: Sport Springs for 147 JTD 8v
Thanks for the Reply my friend...
About the Koni-FSD I really like them, you get almost the best of both worlds. If you take it easy you still have comfort.
If you start driving in sport mode, dumpers get harder and harder.
So I am really happy with them, but keep in mind that I also have powerflex bushes all around.
I have read a few reviews and the best thing to go with koni-fsd are eibach pro-kit springs. One of the reasons I am going to fit them, second reason the car looks way better, third reason car is way better on the track, last but not least my springs are almost 5 years old and have 136 000km's on them...so they had their time.

Re: Sport Springs for 147 JTD 8v
I am happy with my setup as well, but to be honnest if I was buing it now, I would look for some 25mm lowering like autodelta springs. My HR are -35mm and though it is fine when I am on good european roads, at home in Slovakia -25mm would be enough.....
I was thinking about powerflex too. How do you rate the bushes? isnt the ride too harsh? Dont they make all the body vibrate too much? Do they squeal or make noises?

Re: Sport Springs for 147 JTD 8v
8v JTD are 15mm higher then the petrol version, factory standard (not sure about the facelifted 147). So with the -30mm it should be -15mm compared to petrol version, BUT IMO it will lower the car more by about -25mm or so. So should be almost OK for our "perfect" roads.
About the powerflex. You will notice big improvement over standard bushes. The ride becomes actually better then before, Only when you are going over Rail roads (the rail is 2cm above the ground) you will fell like you are driving with 17inch wheels compared to 15inch wheels...if you get what I mean.
In any other case Powerflex should give you better comfort compared to factory bushes, at least in my opinion and couple of other friends with powerflex.
About noises, you won't hear anything if you fit them correctly. At about 30 000km's the front upper wishbone bushes might need lubricating. Meaning you take the wishbone out of the car, dismantle them, lubricate them again and put them back on the car.
You should bear in mind that with Powerflex bushes, your car's high will only depend on the springs and dumpers.
Overall the powerflex bushes will make the car much more stable and fun to drive.
It is good the recondition the front lower wishbones join bolts before installing powerflex.
