Re: First Mods

Why would anyone want to de-bagde an Alfa, talk about spoil perfection.

Re: First Mods

i think it gives a nice look with the plain look , and it is only the model badges not the actual ALFA name badges

Re: First Mods

Hey mate, quite a few people on here de-badge their Alfa's as it does tend to tidy up the back end apparently. Obviously keep the Alfa badges though, just remove the TS, VELOCE, 156 etc badges.

My 2000 2.0 TS SP3 has clear sidey's and looks great with them.

Were you thinking about modifying the performance of the car at some point or just visually?

Re: First Mods

Some debadging gets my vote too. Wouldn't do it on my GTA but my 164 Super is a lot better for not having all that V6 stuff on the boot lid (done by a PO).

As for the Veloce bits - I don't think I'd bother as their visual impact seems small but OTOH, while you are about it you may as well if they seem excessively fussy.

Re: First Mods

Mods to the 156 depend vastly on the colour and trim level of the car as far as I'm concerned. I'm of the firm belief that a base-level 156, without the skirts and lower suspension - and perhaps in burgundy (no offence to the proteo red drivers ) - can actually approach looking ugly.

As for debadging, I've toyed with the idea myself several times and always seem to come to the conclusion that it looks better with than without. The 147 does look a lot less cluttered without any rear badges, but I think the 156 and V6 badges on the back of mine hit the spot perfectly

Re: First Mods

I de-badged my GTV, took all of them off and it looked a bit plain. So i put the GTV badge back on and it looks nice a lot less cluttered

Re: First Mods

i have a 156 ts SW in mica green and i debadged the '2.0 t-spark' and i think visually it's nicer, i think def keep the 156. i went the other way and got black repeaters and they are sweet! but that depends on your car/trim colour i think. i did learn that once you take off 1 bit you can't it back on so just be sure.
i wouldn't touch a single badge if i had a gta

Re: First Mods

Sorry to kidnap the post .

Does de-badgeing leave a mark on the paintwork, Im thinking of doing this on my 145, just concerned about damaging the paint.. The car is proteus red..

Cheers.

Agreed - there is a proteo red 156 near me, with small wheels, no skirts, spoilers, doesnt look to great - It also seems to sit quite high too

Re: First Mods

Those poor burgandy standard 156 driving souls,

I like the 156 in any form, and having owned a bog standard V6 myself back in the day I liked it.

Not a huge fan though of the flat faced 15" wheels though, I think if the standard stock cars had 16" Tele's they'd look alot better.

Re: First Mods

r.e. debadging. no, removing them wont leave marks on your paint unless you use sandpaper to remove any glue residue. i used wd40, liberally sprayed over and around the badges, and some dental floss, used in a sawing motion to get between badge and glue.

any remaining glue can be carefully peeled off with wd40 and a fingernail, and residue and dark marks from the badge outline/letter centres i removed with turtle wax's scratch remover paste. any polish would do it.
