oops, so it does. I just looked at the pretty pictures.

No mention of anything other than android 3.0, but in one of the pics it looks like it has windows on it

yep, now I look closer at the pics its clearly an onscreen bar with the 3 buttons most phones have on them. Back menu, home.

I really should pay more attention

Looks a very cool bit of kit though Not much more than a decent netbook either.

Probably an FCC cert or GSM type approval issue.

Bah.

And I wanted one soooo bad.

End of May now.

If I could use a phone as a modem over bluetooth it'd be okay,
but I'm not sure you can do that on Android.

Well If Samsung launch the TX100 before then, Asus may lose my
custom.

Why don't you just tether it to your smartphone, assuming you have one.

I've got a Chinese iPad-a-like Android tablet. It runs on 2.2. I just tether it to my phone if I want to use a network connection other than wifi. I can even use the gps on my phone, Google Nav working on a 9.7 inch screen is pretty impressive.

I find lack of on-board 3g an overstated "issue".

It's just convenient.

I have a SIM and when I use it in my work laptop and it's zero hassle.

And the rates are cheaper than using the phone.
(10 Euros/day if you use it against 30 Euros/month even if you don't use it.)

I guess. My phone and the pad just link up automatically if I want. Got to say with 3G the way it is over (rubbish) here in the UK it really isn't worth worrying about too much.
