Nearly there!!!

Brought my beloved spider over to drier weather from the UK back home to Western Australia.

She had a slightly leaky head gasket...so....engine out, full rebuild, revamped the engine bay, new clutch, hot cams, JE high comp pistons, new valve guides all-round, balanced everything...(except the budget)

You should have seen the mess inside the twin cam...some guy had hacked away at the bosses on the inside of the pistons around the gudgeon support, down to less than 1mm in places...why oh why would someone do that...??? Anyhow, she's almost back on the road. .

Got her fired up and then went to bleed the brakes....no pressure no matter what I did. I guess 3 months of sitting around finally did those master cyl seals in...found out a 5:25pm Christmas eve and no-one's open till early Jan for a new m/c!!! Ahhhggggg.

Here's a couple of pics of where she's up to so far. I'll post some pics of those hacked up pistons, if I find them.

I'm really not happy with the three point standard seat belts. Has anyone fitted a more secure belt system. I don't really want the hassle of a racing harness.

Re: Nearly there!!!

Interested in the seatbelt question too - for our Sprint GT car I was thinking about something along the lines of Road 4 | Harnesses | Demon Tweeks Motorsport, Motorcycle, Modifying, Parts and Accessories - bit more security for track days, without the full on race harnesses I have in my Caterham 7!
