Re: tyre air pressur

Wow, those are wide and low for a Spider
You might have to experiment a bit to see what works for you, don't forget the cars were designed when 70 aspect was a low profile Tyre and 165 was wide. A lot of the ride quality was gained through deflection of the Tyre, so reducing the profile will make the ride quite harsh. If you run them softish, it will help, but then the steering will be impossibly heavy. I'd try at about 30psi and suck it and see.

As Mitch says - they are very low and wide for a Spider! How do they actually affect the ride and handling?

Are you able to post a pic so we can see what it looks like? My Spider runs on 165/65 HR15 Michelin XAS tyres with the standard rims, and I can't quite picture what it would look like on 'modern' size wheels!

Ratcat - the car really suits them I reckon! Makes it look very muscular - like an american muscle car! Lovlely looking car altogether!

I was very tempted by some original Spider alloys on ebay a few weeks ago - they were being sold by Ian Ellis. But someone beat me to it - am a little annoyed with myself actually! They would have looked ace - just like Garwood's Green Spider .
