Help Checking the fuel lines are right

I've been de-sludging the fuel pick up/sender last week end. I'm going to have to drain a full tank

Anyway, anyone with a Bertie coupe? Could you please just confirm for me the correct sequence of connections of the fuel line from when it enters the engine bay through the filter king, pump and to the carbs? I stupidly removed all the rotting rubber a few weeks back without noting the layout.

Now, I think I have it right, but I'd like to double check seeing as I'm still getting no fuel unless I suck the main pipe which now seems clean too.

Cheers and TIA

Yes, that's exactly how it's routed in my 1750 Spider '70. Don't think AR did it any different no matter of model or year back then.

Re: Checking the fuel lines are right

Actually, the correct order after the fuel line enters the engine bay is;
1) fuelpump
2) regulator/filter
3) carbs
The regulator cannot regulate the fuel pressure if it's installed before the pump.

Re: Checking the fuel lines are right

Thanks Jim. That's actually how I had it (memory fade between leaving car and typing the question!). I nearly tried AlfaBB and I know you're a regular contributor there.

The first connection to the fuel pump is at the front end i.e. towards the rad. Am I right?

Is there anyway in a poorly equipped domestic garage that I can check the pump hasn't packed up or is it just as well to buy a new one?

Yep! According to the attached pic from the parts manaul, the line goes to the front of the fuelpump first. The rear of the pump then goes to the rear of the filter/regulator. The front of the regulator then goes to the banjo T fitting on the front carb.

The pump can be tested in situ by connecting one end a hose to the fuelpump output fitting and put the other end into a suitable container. Disable the ignition system and crank the engine. I can't locate a spec but I'd think that the pump should output 50 or so ml in mere seconds.
