What type of Top?

Plan on replacing original textile top of my S4. It's sun bleeched and has a few small rips and tears. Definately needs to be prelaced after all these years.
What type of top do you'all recommend?
Plastic? Textile?
Thanks for any input.

Re: What type of Top?

I think the Mohair looks better quality. I had one fitted by Coburns which I was very pleased with.

Re: What type of Top?

I have a top from Coburns - they are very knowledgeable and helpful. They recommended a slightly lighter weight fabric than some people specify for my roundtail because the hood frames are not particularly strong.

Re: What type of Top?

Peter K,
I'm in the Frankfurt/Main area. I found a place near Stuttgart that could replace top with textile for around 800-, Euros.

Re: What type of Top?

Sounds like a good deal. The Southern based Ragtop specialists are probably better (definitely bigger+more competetive prices) then up here anyway.

Re: What type of Top?

German Mohair all the way. I bought mine from Highwood Motor Company - http://www.highwoodalfa.com/ 18 months ago and the quality is superb. Can thoroughly recommend Highwood for any 105 series spares - always have what you need at very fair prices.
