Member car:

1987 Alfa spyder

Blown fuse when I shift in Reverse in 87 spyder

My 87 Spyder blows it's fuse everytime I shift to reverese. I fugure it's the connectors on transmission. Is there easy access to this, or is it a pain and needs expertice? any help thanks

The easy way not to blow the fuse is to remove the bulp until you get under the car.
The reverse lamp, the switch and lead can be faulty.

My question to you is where is the switch located on the transmissini houisng it self, is there easy access?

I'm fairly sure it's inside the gearbox, not the easiest place to get to!.
Chances are though it's a dead short in the circuit between the swithc and the light, have you tested that?
