Spider s4 power drain

Just had a few weeks
used first time last week on a one hour drive, went fine then after another half hour it was dead, lights etc came on and did not dim, when ignition turned . I rocked it thinking starter stuck and also played with immobiliser fob just in case, it then started and i ran it home no problem. Went to start it in garage today for the first time since then and it was completely dead, no lights, even on dash, nothing. Jumped it and it started and ammeter shows charging, when leads put on checked to see if had left anything running but i had not.
Any idea what draining the battery, brand new by the way, so much in a week?

battery connection was not very tight, in fact negative lead just lifted off. Could this be the problem in the end?

I had the same problem, new battery, the leads were loose, tightened them up and everythings fine.

No, your description seems to indicate that your battery appeared to be dead (nothing happened) but then later spun the engine and started the car. This isn't how a dead battery acts. Your ignition switch could though be fouling up intermittingly.

sorry should have mentioned used jump leads to start.
Today jumped it and drove for half anhour, lft it a another half hour then turned key, got ignition lights but didnt turn engine so had to jump again.
Thjoughts going to voltage regulator in alternator not charging battery. Vo;tmeter showing 13 v, on running.
what should be upper current when sitting off?
what voltage should show across battery on tick over?
and upper limit on revving up?

If the loose terminal you mentioned had indeed come loose while the engine was running and the alternator was producing anything more than minimal current, it is possible that the diodes in the alternator were damaged.
Try starting the car then measuring the voltage across the terminals, increase throttle and keep an eye on the meter, a functioning alt. should produce about 14v. Repeat your readings with all of your headlamps turned on. If your unsure remove it and have it checked, here in the States any auto supply house tests them for free.
