I am itching to buy an S4 Spider and decided to get some pretend insurance quotes first - what a shock As the car is an import and RHD conversions count as a modification, my cheapest quote was over £1000 while many insurers opted out.
Does anyone know a good insurer for this kind of car which won't cost loads of money? The car would be my daily driver, about 7k a year (including up to 1k personal business use).
Are you intending it to be your only Car Chris?.
Classic policies, which would be the way to go normally on a Spider, are only valid if you have another 'modern' Car as well.
Are you a member of the Alfa Romeo Owners club?, if so try the clubs scheme run by Chris Knott, they are good for 'main' Car policies, if it's a classic policy try RH Specialist Vehicles.
I am sure you can bring the price down unless you have an 'age' or postcode related problem.
