Re: GT 1300 Junior for sale

How often do I get out in the spider? It depends. I try to use it as much as possible given the weather, the type of driving that needs to be done, etc.

What type of problems am I encountering? Nothing that is connected with anything else -- just your general grab-bag assortment. They are big problems and small problems, but they usually crop up without an ounce of warning (something I've never experiened in any other car, and yes I do pay exceedingly close attention to the signs the car is giving me) -- usually when everything seems to be running perfectly smoothly -- and they tend to leave me either pushing (or coasting) the car to the side of the road, or praying to whatever motoring deities exist to "let me get this %^&!$ home."

As I said the last issue was small and stupid -- just a split hose on the clutch slave cylinder, which I will admit can happen to any car -- but the circumstances were less than ideal, making that breakdown and stranding, if not the straw that broke the camel's back, probably the penultimate one -- at least for the forseeable future.

Thumbs Up Re: GT 1300 Junior for sale

Well it seems that the car in question is sold.
Whether a 1300, 1600, 1750 or 2000 engine is fitted, it’s still the same lovely car if every thing else is as it should be. The smaller engines are more willing and happy to rev and lots find them more entertaining.
The 2 others have more bottom end punch, longer gearing and are better suited and relaxed for long drives on highways and motorways, but still great fun on twisted roads. A 2000 will, in my opinion, require a LSD rear axel, my 1750 Spider is already very tail happy. Some say that the 2000 is more fragile that the others, though I’ve never had any probs with my two 2000 transaxles.
I’ll say, hunt the best overall one you can afford, and don’t mix it up, keep it original and well serviced – then you’ll not have much trouble and you’ll get a good price if you ever want to sell.

Alfisti regards
Erik

Re: GT 1300 Junior for sale

I totally agree about keeping it original. It seems the price difference between thse kept original or even restored to original can fetch so much more than those with silly alterations.Take this exquiste guilia sprint for eg.'65 model, with low km's.He's asking quite a bit,but may still get close to what he wants. Asking $22,500 AUD

On a similar isssue, it seems Chris Sweetapple of Highwood Alfa, is selling his gem of a number plate, 69 GTV.
He's only asking £7000.00
