Re: Quarterlight lock

breaking these off seems to be some kind of law. Every owner I know has had to glue one of these things back on

Loctite do a glue for sticking rearview mirrors back on.

It consists of some glue and a small nylon mesh. Get it at Halfrauds.

does exactly what it says on the tin. I used it over a year ago and have had no problems.

Re: Quarterlight lock

let us know how you get on, I've had the same job to do for over two years and haven't got around to it yet...... but when it's parked with the hood down, who's worried about the quarterlight not locking!!!

Note of caution.
Don't use a standard glue, most expand a little when the set, and on a laminated windscreen, sometimes it causes cracks to start. I know the quarter light will not be laminated, but not sure what effect expanding glue could have on a toughened piece of glass.
Stick with the specialist adhesives. (if you'll pardon the pun)

Re: Quarterlight lock

Mine came off, polished it ready to glue back on, left it in the kitchen, wife threw it out. Argh! So if anyone has a spare for n/s spider window I'm your man.

Glass glue by loctite does the job, for 12 months or in my case - get a girlie with a sligthly gentler touch

My solution:
1. don't even try to open them in the first place
2. and certainly don't let the girlfriend with the "gentle" touch anywhere near them!
