Congratulations JaB. Berlinas are really nice driving Alfas.

Make sure to make pictures on a nice location, because this one is a must have for the Alfa Owner Member Car calendar 2006.

Happy motoring.

And in case you are looking for a new signature: ".. Ich bin ein Berlina .."

Looks to me like there's an emissions reducing cat on the exhaust.

Nice work

interesting question that.... I've not driven this particular example as yet cos it's in northern Italy . I won't get my mits on this for another couple of weeks however, I Know the guy ( and his reputation) that has sourced it for me and I'm inclined to trust his opinion, besides if it's not as "Advertised" he'll have to sort it. Again all my research about the guy suggests I'll have no problems. My sources are all very well informed, know their stuff and I trust and value their opinions.

I suppose I could just stay in bed all day or get ip and take a chance.

I have driven several others and I like the way they drive, like my spider they have a sort of relaxed feel about them that nevertheless sticks to the road very nicely.

WOW! You're a very trusting guy buying without driving. Although I have some super Italian friends, as a company we've had our fingers burnt a few times. Really hope it goes ok for you matey!
Are you planning to drive it from Italy or have it shipped? Will it be re-registered or stay on the IT plates?

Re: JaB's got himself a new ride.....

Yeah, it is a bit of a gasper and I was a little apprehensive but having done my research I'm as sure as I can be...

fingers crossed and all that.

The car has been sourced for me by a guy who makes his living finding Italian cars new homes here in blighty it's not unusual to buy classics unseen/undriven. He'll be getting the car through it's inaugeral MOT as well.
At the moment the plan is to have the car transported but I am considering going out to collect it and driving it back. It'll be registered on english plates by me.

I hope to have it for National Alfa Day @ Boughton House.

Can I be co-pilot?!?

In all seriousness, that drive will be wonderful if you can find the time to do it.

Re: JaB's got himself a new ride.....

Yeah, I've done the full northern Italy tour in my GTV, it'll be cool to do it in a Berlina. I was planning on taking my spider up over the alps this summer as well so I@ll have to see how it goes.

There's a long queue for co-pilot

Nice car from the picture. Trust it's not going to be one of those only seen on dry sunny car show days!
Curious to know what fuel it uses, leaded or has it got the ability to use unleaded?

Re: JaB's got himself a new ride.....

I am intending this car to be my daily driver, it being a bit more practical than my spider and I cannot stand my punto any longer

If I get it in time for NAD then I may enter it just this once in the concourse but that kinda depends upon it's state when I get it home.
