urgent help needed from those in the north

ive taken my 71 gt junior up to augill castle just off the a66 near kirby stevens. my cylinder 1+4 manifold sheared in half today. im staying up here untill tuesday but need to dtive it back to suffolk for mid pm.

does anyone nearby have a spare 1300 1+4 manifold I could buy?

hotel has given me the number of a local mech to fit it.

Bad luck - is it beyond welding? A decent mech might be able to do a weld repair, otherwise it's a pretty rare part and the best I can think is that you get one of the Usual suspects (Classicalfa / EB / Highwood / Alfaholics) to courier one up to you Tuesday AM. Or hit the phones and see if any specialists locally.

But by the time you read this you'll probably be way ahead of me.

Jamie you could try Bonelli's in Newcastle, trouble is I can't find them on Google... I'm sure that's their name???. They specialise in 105's and have lots of bits.

well that was fun.

had to get the mrs to pboro station for 2.30pm tues, so she could catch train to london for a 4pm meeting.

got classicalfa to ship a used manifold out mon to arrive b4 9 on tues. had a local mech on stanby, who had already pulled the old manifold off on monday pm.

the manifold arrived at 9.01am at the castle we were staying in, so I hot footed the part over to the garage, with their courtesy car.

id worked out that I needed to leave the garage by 10.30 to give me time to get down to pboro station.............car was fixed and we left at 11..........poor lil car had to sit at 85-90mph all the way doen the a1 from scotch corner........ got to the station with 10mins to spare.

other than that a great weekend in a castle......and we sold our house.
