Jacking points & axle stands - S3 Spider

Looking at doing some work so was going to put the S3 up on axle stands. Now as I see it, the car jacking points are where I'd put the jack obviously, so where would i then put the stands? Also, if I jack elsewhere, the stand tops look like they would crush the jacking points when the car lowered onto them.

jack the car up on the usual points with the jack, then place the axle stands under the spring bases and lower the jack carefully until it sits, always checking that they sit properly...if necessary do the same on the other side till the front of the car is up in the air........then start work

Same thing goes for the rear
