Why don't we at alfaowner have something like this?

Spider Technical FAQ Digest - Alfa Romeo Bulletin Board & Forums

Absolutely superb!
........this has been a huge help to me (and they have one specifically for the Duetto too!) surely we can get something together like this, maybe even help our US friends with a few of our own tips and suggestions?

I think there's probably only room for one Bulletin Board. And wonderful though it is and a fantastic resource, it is, for me a little bit po faced and too serious about itself. Here is a more friendly place to be.

Only disadvantage is that the standard of some of the work shown on there is so high it's intimidating to us mere average owners.

I'll hazard a guess this impression may be because the AlfaBB is a place to help fellow Alfisti repair and maintain their Alfas and has little social interaction activity while AO has a lot of social interaction and also a bit about Alfas. One should also keep in mind that the newest Alfas in the USA qualify for the Classics Lounge on AO. With no dealers, we have to do this stuff ourselves.

Each venue is perfect for the users preferred use.

Well, Jim's on both forums so I'd say it's not as if we're stranded for classic Alfa knowledge. What he doesn't know about Alfas doesn't exist.
A lot of the threads are technical, but amazingly useful if you're fixing things. Jim sent me cd's for my car a while back which helped me get absolutely everything working. The electrical diagrams on alfabb (also Jim's work) are amazing.

Well for the 105 owner at least in the UK we have a forum which does the technical stuff and the social stuff, it's AROC forum, but you need to be a member I'm afraid.

nothing

Can reiterate that I have had a wealth of extremely useful replies to technical questions on the AROC UK forum. Numerous extremely 105-knowledgeable individuals hang out there. I guess I wouldn't have joined AROC only for that, but there other reasons to be in it too.

On the other hand, the first thing I do is google when trying to find technical information, and google will search through AlfaBB and alfaowner, but not AROC.

Both the BB and AO are great resources especially for those of us with older Alfa's. I tend to read my workshop manual first to figure things out and then do searches.
