Re: 2.5 V6 to 2.8 V6

Should be possible but you will probably have to change the liners and pistons for the 3.0 ones

Might also benefit if you can use the 3.0 crank if it will fit as it will have a better stroke

Best to speak to AHMotorsports or your local engineeering shop

I always thought the 3.0 was a long stroke 2.5 and hence has the same bore

Re: 2.5 V6 to 2.8 V6

the cranks are the same, the piston dome heights are different as is the gudgon pin height. the liners are the same lenght but bigger on the 3.0L . a 2.8 conversion wont work with a high compression engine without enormas work..

The Old GTV was pretty easy to convert to 2.8. Why not just buy a 3.0 L?, well because of the way the 2.8 would rev, its so oversquare and makes a fantastic engine, the 3.0 doesent sound anything like as good but it does have lots of torque... depends what you want, i wanted the sound a revs of a 2.8.... but there we go
