2000 GTV exhaust found

Found an exhaust tail section & back box for 105 series Bertone Coupe while getting the spider out for Summer & clearing the garage out today. You know , the one with the big U curve that rusts thru' quickly.

Fits 70's 2000GTV & I am guessing also 1750 & 1600. Virtually unused but at least 6 years old so needs a clean. Anyone wants it for the cost of carriage & wrapping up PM me.

Bought it when I first got the car. Ii had a bodged on Nissan back box (don't ask), took it to Kwik Fit who were v flummoxed & sold it to me. Realised the mistake & replaced it pretty soon.

Re: 2000 GTV exhaust found

Hi

Got loads of photos as I'm restoring the car at the moment. Got it in feb 2003. 1970 MK2 RHD. Most of the photos are close ups of rust and then new shiny bits after i have welded them in. I'll attach a couple of general ones but if there is anything specific you want just shout.

I've done one side of the car and am currently rooting around under what was the radiator cross member (now resembles a line of dried out PG tips)

I've also done all the brakes and replaced all the copper pipe to the fuel lines, clutch and brakes.

How long have you had your GTV? What sort of condition is it in?

Please tell me its the best car you've ever had and I'm not wasting my time rolling in metal filing and burning myself with the welder.

Regards

James

Re: 2000 GTV exhaust found

Hi James, mine's a 1968 Mk1, I bought it last Christmass (Dec 2003), from a Family up in The Lake District, who had owned it since 1970.
It's in good running order and the upper Body is fairly rust free. Underneath she has some problems and will need some welding on the Boot floor and the the front Chassis rails, eventually most of the floor will probably need doing but that's a couple of years off yet.
They are certainly fun to own and drive, I am still getting to know her properly, and haven't explored the Handling any where near the limits yet.
The Engine is a lovely unit, and pulls lustily right round to 6000RPM, I has suprised how much torque there was, after driving modern 16 Valvers for 8 Years or more.
I have posted various photo's in the image and 105 series lounges, look for the White one.
