Head from a 75....one a 1750??

Will a Cylinder head form a 1.8 75 fit directly onto a 1750 Engine??, and will the Manifold and Carbs mount OK. If so is it worth it....I have four Hours to decide.....

Been watching Swap Shop again Mitch?

I saw this too, not entirely sure why you would do it though...

Dunno really....probably won't TBH, knowing my luck the Valves would hit the Pistons first time it turned over..

Re: Head from a 75....one a 1750??

If a 1.8 TS is like a 2.0 TS then it will have flat-top pistons so it will not fit a Bertone 105 engine, also spacing of inlet tracts on an injection TS is different to a Carburettor car. What has brought on this idea?

Re: Head from a 75....one a 1750??

Moment of madness actually, I found one on eBay, was advertised as a direct fit on a 105 Engine and was only £20.00.
Wasn't a Twin Spark, and it did seem to look the right shape but I can find a better use for the money anyway. Thought better of it now.

Re: Head from a 75....one a 1750??

Wow, wow, wow. The 1.8 TS is a completely different beast to the single plug 1.8. The latter iis from the same family of aluminium twin cams installed in Giulias, Alfettas, Giuliettas and early 75s etc. In fact, I'm fairly sure that the 1750 was only called a 1750 for "historical" reasons: it's displacement is closer to 1800cc and it is the same engine as the later 1.8.

I can tell you that the heads of the a 2.0 litre Giulia and Alfetta are interchangeable (you've guessed it, the Pig has an Alfetta head on a Giulia block). The only difference I'm aware of is that the later engines have a water temperature sensor in the place of a bolt behind the 4th spark plug.

The Auction has ended now, but I bet it's still their.
Link to it here

I think I need to worry about Body and Suspension before Engine, so it's not for me.
