Badge Engineering

Might be obvious this but.......
I have taken the cloverleafs off my car at the moment, they were cracking up a bit and loosely held, sort of, in place with some black gungy stuff.
Having cleaned them, filled and painted the cracked bits, what is the best adhesive to stick them back on with?.
Only one side has got the Pins which fix through Holes in the Steel, the other is purely held with the glue.

I thought about just using Araldite (Epoxy resin), but was wondering if something like these Silicon Sealents, Glazers use, might work better. I don't want to take the Paint off so it will be Metal to Paint as a bond, also the back of the badge is rebated in by a couple of mm, so any adhesive would have to be quite deep.

No more Nails???

Re: Badge Engineering

That black gungy stuff is the proper... erm... stuff I think.

It's like a siliconey sealant type thing, as the panel they go against isn't completely flat.
Maybe white or clear on would be best on yours?
I find No More Nails dries a bit brittle, and you want flex.

MMM OK, I did a google search for Black Gungy Stuff...it picked up this;

'... Diary of a wombat, and signing books, but there's masses of other stuff happening
too ... Black Spot Spray. ... Also good on gungy arms, legs etc after long winters. ...'

I think the stuff you want is called Stickoflex, as used by most pro bodyshops.id advise to go beg a bit, as its approx £13 a tube, and it doesnt have a very long shelf life.

Idea Re: Badge Engineering

What you need is this;

http://www.austinhardware.com/store/...ikaflex221.gif

It comes in grey, white and black. Stick's everything to everything. It takes a while to cure, so afix the badge with loads of tape.

Cheers
