Re: 105 Hydraulic Clutch

New to forums etc, but I hope I can help.
The settings are spot on, so sounds like the clutch could be on the way out...did you go for original of one of the aftermarket/recon units?
The best way to bleed the clutch is with two or if possible three people... One inside the car to operate the pedal, one to work on the cylinder under the car, and one to keep the resevoir topped up.
The bleed nipple is next to the hose inlet.
Its 7mm and you will probably find you need to twist the cylinder around to get to it. At the back of the cyl there is two flats (27mm spanner size) that will help if its seized.
Put a clear peice of pipe (washer pipe is good) and open the nipple. Twist the cylinder around untill the nipple is at the top, and get your mate to pump the clutch, nice and slow. Keep topping the resevoir, untill new fliud is pumped from the slave.
When you are happy you have all new fluid. get your man inside the car to hold the pedal down, while you twist the cylinder around and close the nipple.
You need the nipple at the top as the fluid will expell all the air from the cyl.

Hope it helps!

Idea Re: 105 Hydraulic Clutch

Not sure if by "the last two centremeters of travel" you mean by the floor or the top of the pedal.

If the clutch is knackered it will let out right at the top, not the bottom/floor. If it is right at the floor then the clutch itself is fine, but if you think it is too near the bottom then you are not getting enough clutch action, which suggests either air, or the slave or master cylinder is knackered.

Bleed it like the guy above says, but if you want to be able to just pump the air out without closing the nipple at the bottom of each stroke, then you have to make sure that you have the tube going into a glass jar which has some fluid in it....then the air will work its way out without sucking it back in again as the pedal comes back up....you will get initial air coming down the tube which you must ignore until you see the fluid coming as well. If the bubbles are large as they come down with the fluid then just keep going until all you have is fluid. If the bubbles are tiny and the fluid in the bottle goes a bit opaque with micro-bubbles then there is likely to be a problem with the master cylinder rubbers or the slave cylinder.

Hope you get round it ok
