Yes. Same goes with LRP too. No sporty driving, no labouring the engine, no towing. Pootle around on a light throttle and middle revs and it will be fine. I presume you are not intending to do 30,000 miles a year or something?

Re: 105 Bertones ~ Unleaded??

LRP was a stopgap fuel to make sure that people with 25 year old Chevettes could still get to their coffee morning on a Friday after traditional 4 star fuel was phased out. LRP itself is now being phased out, and was never intended for performance driving.

If you want the proper job, you need Bayford Thrust!

But if the Twin Cam has hardened seats, it can probably run on straight unleaded.
Or gas.

if you want four star check here : http://www.leadedpetrol.co.uk/list.htm
I have owned a 105 for 10 years 8 of them in Sweden where you could not buy leaded it has always run on LRP and I don't hang about.
Shell Optimax and the new one BP are selling do give a deffinate improvement and are well worth the extra you pay (around £3 a tank)
If you are still concerned use leaded once a month

Re: 105 Bertones ~ Unleaded??

LRP is definately rubbish

105 twinks have already got v hard vavle seats... but harder ones are available. Thus, in theory its not a problem to run the cars on unleaded... but to be sure why not just chuck a Millers VSP in the tank everytime you fill up. Millers products are very good, we use all their oils in our race cars and their CVL in the race car's fuel. The road lubricant is VSP and is very good and not too expensive

Re: 105 Bertones ~ Unleaded??

Max
Talking of Millers, and drifting off topic a bit, some of us had a trip to millers Oils last Night, for a presentation by there Tech guy. It was a good night....but point is, I need to do an oil change on my 1750, and I am a bit unsure wether to use the Synthetic or the ordinary stuff. The tech guy was of the opinion that unless you are going on track, which I doubt I will, ordinary Classic 20W50 was fine.
I still feel tempted to use the Classic Sport tho, given that the Car tends to do reletively few Miles, and is ofton running Cold. What do you think??.
