Anyone interested in a Spider?

Hi all,

My fabulous Spider S4 is now for sale now on Pistonheads: Alfa Romeo : Alfa Romeo Spider S4

It's in fantastic condition - low mileage, looked after and lots of new bits.

With regards to the asking price I am open to realistic offers too!

Chris

Just got £6250 for mine with 90k on the clock, so seems reasonable.

Good luck with the sale, its a shame you're selling it when the good weather is just on us!

When you took the cat exhaust off did you have to do anything else to the engine management system? I'd like to do the same to mine but am not sure if it is a straight swap. Also where did you get the new exhaust made?
Thanks for any info.

anglo spider. re cat; when you take it off, just make sure you weld a nut into the exhaust before the 1st box to put the lambda probe back in. The car needs the lambda probe.

Thanks guys. It's a great little car, not much genuine interest yet either so maybe I will just keep it ;-) Got a drive coming up in the summer in Europe which would suit it brilliantly too.

Stu GTV - I was actually thinking of replacing with a 3.0 GTV as these are fine cars and I should have some cash left over. But there is a frightening thread on the GTV forum about rust - should I be worried and avoid GTVs? Even my Spider S4 hasn't got any rust to speak of.

Anglospider - the exhaust is stainless steel and custom fitted by the previous owner by Power Speed IIRC. The box end has Magnaflow embossed underneath. The cat has been removed but I don't think the engine management system has been changed. Apparently removing the cat releases a few more horses, and my Spider is fast (faster than some others I've been told). The exhaust makes a nice burble but isn't too loud like a boy racer, and it is quiet when cruising on long journeys - and it certainly doesn't drown out the glorious nord engine when pushing on. In my opinion it's nice if a classic car gives a nice throaty burble. Lots of modern cars hardly make any noise, I'm guessing due to Directives about noise emissions at idle etc.

Chris

Thanks Chris and Karl for info., apologies for hi-jacking the thread.

It does look a nice car and I think the price is sensible so it should sell.
