Classic style race seats - ideas wanted

For our 1964 Sprint GT restoration we're now at the stage of sorting out the interior. One option is just to stick back the scruffy brown stuff that came out for now. However, we'd prefer something nicer (if we can afford it!)

So ideas for classic style race seats - there are the Bob Ridgear ones. And Alfaholics do a nice Sparco seat recovered in leather at a price.

Any other options that people have used?

If I had the money I would go for Ridgard RS4's, but as I haven't sadly I have a mismatched pair of Corbeau seats, a GT8 and a GTA.

CCI Autointerieurs: bekleding en interieur restauratie van klassieke en moderne auto's

Some here.

Autostorica used to do some too. Im not sure if they are still in business. I looked at them when I wanted new seats for a Fulvia HF.

I've got Bob's RS4s. They are really comfortable and supportive, and look correct too. They are heavy though if that's a consideration...

Heavy is not good - I'll be doing some trackdays and the odd sprint in the car! Useful piece of info - shame as they look good!

Re: Classic style race seats - ideas wanted

Geoff, it's all relative. Plenty of AROC trackdayers use them. They are no heavier than standard seats. If you want light seats you are going to have to go for a modern thin bucket which is uncomfortable in normal road use and does not look period. You could save some weight by using some fancy alloy brackets to mount them with as opposed to the steel bars I've got!! If you are still welding your floor you could make provision for some good seat mounts now. If you are really obsessed about weight there's lots of other areas you can save it - battery, brakes, body panels etc.
