I have recently had the syncro rings renewed in my 1979 GTV 2 Lt. After I replaced the transmission - following the manual - I can only get 5th and reverse. I've checked the selector alignment on the spline. I don;t want to go back to the shop if i've missed something. Can anyone offer any suggestions?
Sorry I can’t help you as I’ve never had my gearbox in bits. You’re unlikely to get much help here as the Alfetta no longer has its own forum! You could try the 75 section – there are some very knowledgeable guys there. Failing that, the GTV6 forum in the US has an excellent technical section and they might be able to help.
Thanks alfano. I had the crowd that originally did the syncros check it out - a Dten(?) had slipped. most like ly when it slipped of the jack when installing - i didn't realise a greabox was that fragile - anyway gotta take it back out etc etc. thanks again for the post.

its possible that putting the front case on , It has pushed a selector along, dont remove the box yet, remove oil level plug , and it is possible to reset selector rods, with a coat hanger wire or similar via the hole.
