73 GTV 2000 spica or webers

My new ride came with both, I understand the spica to be reliable and efficient, but can you eventually coax more ponies out of duals webbers? The ultimate goal of this car is a compromise between performance/steetability/reliability (that probably goes for everyone's car)
I am somewhat new to alfa's so any recommendations on books or advice is extremely welcomed. Just bought the car, so no big splurges yet, but it's a driving resto, and as everyone knows these Italian Girls like to spend money
thanx

Can you provide the model specs for each type? Some members will be able to shed more light with this info. Good luck with the new girl!

I am not sure what size the webbers are, as I have not even taken them home, just a handshake on the car, drove it yesterday, will be taking it home this weekend. I imagine 45's? but am guessing, generalizations are fine at this point, thanks for all of the help, I am a happy and excited new owner!

Re: 73 GTV 2000 spica or webers

Originally UK spec would have been 40mm Webers. So if they are 45 might be a bit fluffy at low revs but if you take the better breathing / tuning route they'll be potentially more powerful.

Carbs of any size will also sound more fruity, whether that is good or bad is up to you.

Spica is reliable and powerwise I am told matches the standard carb setup. Your only issue is the comparative lack of UK service support if it needs work in future.

I could imagine someone switching from Spica to carbs, but probably rarer the other way round.

To be honest I'd stick with what is fitted unless you have a specific problem.
