What's the best method for removing a half shaft on a 1973 S2 spider, the diff is off the car and the disc is removed and the hand brake shoe backing plate is loose, is a slide hammer best or some form of puller
Some have had luck by bolting a wheel back on, sorta loosly, and pulling on this, but
a decent size slide hammer is the preferred way to go if you have one.
If you are changing the discs, then bolt one back on and use a heavy soft faced hammer, thats what I did. A slide hammer would be best and I should own one, only remember when I need it though.
I fitted the disc in reverse and with a light tap with a copper and hide mallet both half shafts are now out of the diff, thanks for your help regards Roger
