Re: Sprint GT 1964 - our restoration gallery

A good day today - the car is now back from the paint shop with an all over coat of white! I'll get some more pictures of that soon: I've added a couple of the engine now rebuilt and with a funky red cam cover!

Hi Geoff,
Great progress! Are you keeping the mechanical side standard? Many of my mates fitted a 2000,LSD to their stepnoses.
The red camcover looks great.

Re: Sprint GT 1964 - our restoration gallery

HI Garry - as all the numbers match, the gear box is original etc, we're keeping all the components the same. However it has got a lowered Alfaholics handling kit, big brakes, lightweight flywheel etc

I cannot wait to drive it!!

The "fun" part is when you fit the doors, getting the shut lines perfect is frustrating.

Engine and gearbox are now in! Brakes also fitted - so I've added a couple of close ups of the brake bias valve we've fitted

Waiting for the dashboard back from Alfaholics who are getting it recovered! Then finish the wiring loom, and fit the interior - when that arrives!

Re: Sprint GT 1964 - our restoration gallery

Quick link

Just posted some pics of this week's progress - the dashboard is now back from Alfaholics, and the final electrics fit is done. Good to get rid of that hole where a 1970's radio had been fitted.

You can't tell that the rev counter is now working electronically - getting close now to finish now! The key date is The Goodwood revival in September! Fingers crossed!

Good work!! she looks beautiful. I have just received my '74 GT Junior back from the body shop, so am going through the same process of elation and distress (financially!!). I look forward to seeing her on the road.

Alfa 1600 - I sympathise with the financial distress - - but I am sure it'll be worth it in the end!

We've got just under a month now before we expect the car back on the road! Expect to see my kidneys for sale on e-Bay!

Re: Sprint GT 1964 - our restoration gallery

2 weeks to go before the Goodwood Revival - just waiting for the rest of the interior to turn up, then the windows etc can go in and we're done!

The engine is running - off to the Rolling Road soon!

I was so thrilled to get to sit in a genuine works Mini Cooper from 1964 - being stored next to my Alfa! Pictures added.
