Re: Introduce Yourself to AO South West!
the situation with the alfa spider that i had to reject due to it having extensive cosmetic repaires done to both wings....and also it transpires the bonnet replaced!!!!!!...has gone from bad to worse, the main dealership we bought the car from have behaved in an extremely shoddy manner.Never before have I experienced as a customer not only non existant customer service but rude, ill mannered, unhelpful, arrogant, bully boy tactics....and that is from both the managing director Tim Fish,,,and his dealer principal Adam.Buyer beware....dont touch Fish Brothers Swindon with a ten foot barge pole!!!!We contacted the MD of Alfa UK......cHRISTOPHER NICHOLL,who has given us a promise that Alfa Uk will replace the car with a new one at no extra cost to us.Watch this space...I will believe it when I have a new car on my driveway. I AM NOW LEFT WITH NO CAR,AS FISH BROTHER TOOK AWAY THE CAR THEY HAD LENT ME EVEN THOUGH THE DISPUTE IS NOT RESOLVED,WE ARE STILL PAYING FOR THE REJECTED CAR,AND I AM NOW HOUSE BOUND WITH MY HANDICAPPED SON WHO CAN NOT GET AROUND OTHER THAN BY CAR,I AM DISGUSTED.MR FISH PHONED ME ON SATURDAY MORNING AND THREATENED ME WITH THE POLICE IF I DIDNT TAKE THE CAR BACK THAT THEY HAD LENT ME...I SAID I HAD NO PROBLEM HIM COLLECTING THE VEHICLE WHEN THIS ISSUE WAS RESOLVED,HE THEN USED THREATS,BULLY BOY TACTICS...AND BROUGHT A MINDER WITH HIM TO MY HOME WHERE I WAS INSIDE WITH MY SON WITH SPECIAL NEEDS,HIS MINDER STOOD AGGRESSIVLY STARING AT ME WITH HIS ARMS FOLDED,I FOUND THIS VERY DISTRESSING,AND MR FISH HAS TO DATE NOT OFFERED ME ANY APOLOGY FOR NOT REVEALING THAT THE 7 MONTH OLD 3.2 V6 SPIDER WE PAID 28.500.00 FOR HAD A PREVIOUS HISTORY AND HAD REPAINTED WINGS,REPLACEMENT BONNET AND UNSAFE BRAKES,THINGS MISSING WHEN IT WAS DELIVERED...AND A PDI SHEET WITH NOTHING TICKED....I WILL KEEP EVERYONE UPDATED ON OUR BATTLE WITH THE GIANTS. WE ARE QUITE PREPARED TO GO ALL THE WAY WITH THIS,THERE IS A HUGE PRINCIPAL AT STAKE HERE AND I CANT UNDERSTAND HOW ALFA UK CAN ALLOW SUCH A DODGY DEALERSHIP TO REPRESENT THEM.WE ARE ALSO TAKING THIS TO THE LOCAL AND NATIONAL PRESS WHEN IT IS RESOLVED....

Re: Introduce Yourself to AO South West!
Sorry to hear about this Kitty, it really isn't very good I can't believe he brought along a 'minder', that really is quite bad
Keep us updated! (But post it as a new thread in the Rant Room or General Discussion Lounges )

Re: Introduce Yourself to AO South West!
Hi there,
New to the forum, based I'm in Bristol, and 'upgraded' from a '94 Eunos Roadster (really great car) to an '01 GTV V6.
I'm thinking that the Alfa might be a bit quicker...
Booked on a track day on 11 August at Castle Combe, and will try to pop along to any regional meets.
Cheers,
Darren

Re: Introduce Yourself to AO South West!
Hey Hammy, thanks for the welcome!
I live in Horfield, work in Bristol town centre - where are you?
Weymouth sounds great - what's the date? It could be an easy sell to the other half as she likes Weymouth too - what better way to stretch the Alfa's legs?

Re: Introduce Yourself to AO South West!
Rather than an introduction this is a bit more of a farewell as I have recently moved from Bristol to London so I suppose I better pop over to the appropriate regional forum and say hello there. But I just wanted to say cheers to Simon for organising the events that I have been able to attend, which have been great fun. I will still be down to Bristol from time to time so if I do find myself down there when there is something on and I can make it along then I might crash it. Now I just have to find myself a mechanic up here that can do as good a job as Duncun from Alfanet!
Cheers
Pat

I hope you settle down well in London, and all the very best for your future. Hopefully we will get to meet up at some point in the fututre (might try and arrange a meet around it!) Just pop in the South Wets Lounge and let us know when you are around!

Re: Introduce Yourself to AO South West!
I see there are more members from the region signing up now, so I thought it'd benefit the region by breathing life into the inro's again!

Re: Introduce Yourself to AO South West!
Hey everyone - I have already said hi in the main forum area but wanted to introduce myself to the local possy hehe! Im Andy, 23 from Bristol in the good ol west country. Had a Primera for 3 years excellent engine but now jsut way to big to run! So I am picking up my 147 1.6 Lusso from a private sale tomorrow. I loved test driving this car - but I will be honest the gear shifter is totally different to what Im used to - the gears are so far apart! Is this normal? Looking forward to doing a meet locally soon - probably in september if any are happening? Anyways look forward to meeting you all!
Cheers
Andy

Re: Introduce Yourself to AO South West!
Hi Andy, thanks for dropping in here!
We have a dual-region meet planned for the 21st of September over in Wales, doing a spot of Karting - 2hr Enduro Race, which should be an absolute hoot!
Will be organising a small pub meet too for any Bristol owners about.
Enjoy your stay, and the 147 when you get her

Re: Introduce Yourself to AO South West!
Hi Simon, Name here is Pete, I live in Winchester, have had '99 GTV V6 for about 5 months, still puts a smile on my face every time I drive it - I luv it.
Spent most of my time on AO in the GTV area picking up usefull info, but thought it was time to see if there was time to see if there are any meets coming up and found this thread, so thought I ought to introduce mysef - better late than never.

Re: Introduce Yourself to AO South West!
Hi, devious here.
Bought an 02 147 1.6 Lusso after test driving a mixture(7) of 1.6, 2.0 & selespeed versions.
2.0 no need 4 speed, selespeed no need 4 added cost implications!
Hopefully no probs, all the right service history & belt changes.
But every one I speek to draws in a lot a of air at the notion of buying an alfa!
Who dares an all that................!
