I also got one a moment ago, in St Austell Asda. No idea if you're a member, but hello if you are.

Sure is! Good banter, great food there too! Friendly faces all around too! Will possibly move pubs every so often!!
I've been doing my research and it looks as though it may be expensive just for a weekend in Newquay, so the Newquay Weekender may well be moved to late summer, will let you guys know later this week. I will be looking at holding a meet your way very soon, its a busy couple of months approaching, particularly April. You guys are not forgotten

I don't know if it is the same on the 147, but I had mine done on the 156. I think I've suppressed the memory of how much it cost but I'll try to check later on if I remember. They tried to do the job at a garage in Truro using a non-Alfa part and they simply couldn't get it to fit, so I ended up using the official part. Am I right in thinking it includes the cat?

Not this time but I am hoping to make it to a meet sometime. Hope it goes well

Yeah, its the one with the twin cat on the downpipe, very expensive so far for quotes, Ongaro said around £700 before labour, I found a bosal aftermarket for £350 delivered but will still need to get it fitted.
Would be good to know how much and who you got to sort yours
Cheers for that.

Just checked the paperwork... I had the job done at Ongaros. It was £350 for the part and £50 for the labour (£470 for both, including VAT), but I had a stack of other stuff done at the same time (belt, tensioners etc) so there may have been some economies of scale in there Not sure if it is the same for the 147 either.

Re: Any body else in Cornwall???
my girlfriend finds it slightly bemusing as to why i do it aswell. She knows i'm a car nut so she just accepts it. I parked next a gaggle of Alfas in ASDA today, next to a blue GTV and behind a silver facelifted 156.

Re: Any body else in Cornwall???
Hi Alfisti of Cornwall
We've just moved to Lostwithiel. Finally after 22 years of taking the road south from West Yorks for our annual pilgrimage to where we really wanted to be, we've made it! . . . . and it couldn't be better; the place is beautiful if a little waterlogged at the mo.
I’ve been well impressed with the number of Alfa’s I’ve seen driving about - even just between Lostwithiel and St Austell!
Mine’s a beat up (but loved to bits) blue 156 with a Bulls sticker in the back window.
I'm sure I'll see some of you out and about - happy flashing!

Re: Any body else in Cornwall???
Just tried to Pm you back Kernowmcrae, says you inbox is full so I can't reply.
The message was:
Hi,
Would be a good idea to have a local meeting, never been to one either, always missed out due to one thing or another.
Seems to be a few of us around this area, and I've seen quite a lot of alfa drivers on my travels. Think its a great idea if we can get something sorted out, easter weekend is coming up so maybe its an option if its not to short notice for anyone who might want to join up.
All the meets do seem to be quite a distance for anyone traveling from cornwall. I remember seeing we have a local rep in one of the threads, can't remember who it is, maybe they could give us some help in getting everyone together.
I've looked at joining the AROC UK, I joined here first, although joining them looks like it is worth while so I might do it at the end of the month. Have you heard if many others here are members of AROC?
Cheers for getting on touch.

Re: Any body else in Cornwall???
Alimac, there is at present no rep specifically for Cornwall, though there was a search for one. I cover your area, and plans are in place for a meet in your direction soon! Hope you do make it to a meet when you are able to

DOH! Only just picked this up - not ignoring you Keith.
We've been in the Globe. Good pub, good food and nice staff. AND they let me take my border collie in too rather than leaving him at home, barking and bothering the neighbours (he'll settle down in a couple of weeks).
We're living up Summers Street so I should see you about in town . . . . and maybe at the Globe in the next few weeks - we'll be the one's sounding like the cast of Emmerdale AND have a sheep dog

Welcome to the town that puts the LOST in Lostwithiel!
I'm in North Street - conveniently 150 yards up the road from the Globe (and 50 yards from the Chinese...).
Globe is my regular watering hole – certainly every Wednesday (and most other days, too!).

The AROC is worth joining if you have an older Alfa i.e. 105 series or if you want the monthly magazine - which is pretty good. The forums aren't as good as the alfaowner ones to be honest and the local events? I've been on a couple and they have a very small turn-out and not a lot really happens plus you can still go to National and Spring Alfa Days if you're not a member...
I'll probably renew my AROC next year but I'm hoping that I'll get a bit more out of my membership next year

The magazine could be of interest, always good to get a bit more knowledge about the car, will give it a go for a year and see how I feel at the end if the year about renewing.

Re: Any body else in Cornwall???
Being a member the magazine is interesting, but I always feel like there could me more going on - don't hear about events and meets and there doesn't seem to be much in the way of regularly organised events. went to The Italian car and bike show last year, that was fun but wouldn't have had to be a member to have gone.
