Great Western Alfa Day 9th September 2007 in Gloucester's Historic Docks
The Gloucester & South Section of the Alfa Romeo Owners Club invites all Alfisti to join us at the North Quay, in the picturesque, Historic Gloucester Docks on 9th September. There will be displays of Alfa Romeos of all ages; so come along and marvel at the style and sophistication of Italian automotive engineering while chatting with the enthusiastic owners and soaking up the ambience and heritage of the locality and its attractions. Our location is close to pubs and restaurants, the Antiques Centre, the Soldiers of Gloucester Museum, British Waterways Museum, Gloucester's fine Cathedral and the pedestrianised Shopping Centre. Boat trips will be available from near the British Waterways Museum. The AROC Club Shop will be on hand to satisfy your retail therapy needs. We are confident this will be an enjoyable day for entrants and spectators alike. Earlier this year the section turned out for a photo shoot to promote the event and we were surprised by the interest shown by passers by, one of whom, although suffering impaired vision waxed lyrical about his enthusiasm for Alfas and the one he almost purchased a couple of decades ago. Alfa Romeo entries will be £2 per car, spectators free of charge. The event will run from 10am - 5pm. Further details are available on request from: gwad@ourhemanpal.co.uk or phone 0117 947 5814
Display Positions
There will be provided on a ' first come' basis. So, if you want to display your car in a prominent position, please arrive as close to the start time as possible. If that is not possible, please contact me as detailed above and we will try to reserve a position for a really special car but nothing can be guaranteed I'm afraid.
Directions
North Quay post code is GL1 2EP. From south or east follow signs for the Historic Docks but ignore the car park sign on Southgate Street. Continue to the traffic lights and bear left into Commercial Road (not named on the map). Take the next left and we will direct you to your display parking position. From the West, from the A40/A417 roundabout follow A417 towards the city and bear right with the river on your right hand side along The Quay A431. Immediately after the left bend into Commercial Road you will see our entrance on the right.
This is always a great fun event for all Alfas.

I'll try and get up to Gloucester for this one (although I may also have to go to the Bristol Half Marathon (as a spectator this year to cheer on a friend)).
