'Alfa Experience' day, Thruxton, 8/10
Apologies if there's already a thread on this subject already - searched but couldn't find....humour me.....
Received an email last night from Cloverleaf Club (forgotten I'd joined it, actually) inviting me to part with £85 and join one of the Alfa Experience days (or half-days, to be completely precise). Signed-up for Thruxton, not really sure why 'cos none of the current crop of Alfas are shown in their best light at or near a race-track, certainly not the UK's quickest.
Still, now I've parted with the readies - what's in store? Anyone been to a previous such outing, at any track? Don't tell me it's just a slow, teasing procession of examples of the current Alfa line-up draped in red lycra-clad busty blonde models who then escort you into a hospitality tent full of bean-bags and ply you with Cheap Italian wine until you simply don't know what's happening any more? Oh no. They're bound to be after me for some more money.

Sounds like a good day though!

You should receive welcome pack in the post this week, if not get hold of your dealer or who ever you booked it through.

If it doesn't arrive this week, it'll be a bit late. Seeing as I need to leave the house before breakfast on Monday morning to get to Thruxton!!!
(P.S. booked a week or two ago on the Cloverleaf website, direct with the club)

Re: 'Alfa Experience' day, Thruxton, 8/10
They rang me a few minutes ago, to, err "remind me"!!!
They then asked if I'd received tickets and said to ring them if they hadn't arrived on Friday...

Got mine too - looks like a good day. Looking forward to sampling the Q2 on the GT - can only imagine what a shocking mess mine would be on a track!
Hope to catch-up with fellow Alfa Owner members next Monday - I'm in the Stromboli GT V6 if you want to say hello!

Unfortunately one of the names on the entry tags is wrong - d'oh! Anyway, I am sure we can sort that out.
I'll be there in my new 57 plate red Brera!

Started what? 'I'm there in my ancient, recently-repaired, GT'. Doesn't compare with a brand-spanking Brera. So you definitely started it, you posy get!
So, how is it? Everything you hoped for? Pics?

Well, I only just got it today - so it's a bit premature to start gushing, but, yes, it is GORGEOUS!!!
It was a replacement for my first Brera, which was, how shall I put it, disappointing.... Some initial comments are on another thread, here: http://www.alfaowner.com/Forum/gener...ml#post1309275 (Braking system failures in my Brera - what should I do?)
Otherwise I am going to wait a little longer to post more considered opinions, when I've had a bit more time behind the wheel...

Re: 'Alfa Experience' day, Thruxton, 8/10
you're in for a good time
I did the day at Croft in June
absolutely great stuff - highlights?
1. plenty of time on the track - Brera, 159 3.2 4x4, Spider, GT
2. Q2 147 on high speed slalom (with Q2 on, then off - amazing)
3. Flying lap as passenger with a BTCC driver - unbelievable.
a great way to waste £85 (and you get your bait as well).
