I've only had 1 so far but it's better than nothing, lol.

The bloke was sort of hesitant too like he may have known me but didn't recognize me...

Re: south west wavers

I've waved at a few Alfa's over the last six months in Bristol, and none have waved back. I guess people these days just buy an Alfa much like any other car, and don't wish to take their ownership to levels abound like us lot!......

....... Miserable sods!!

P.S. If you see a chap in a red 156 waving in desperation at other Alfa's, that'll be me!

yes it seems that way. I get more response the older the Alfa I am waving at.

Re: south west wavers

People who buy newer Alfa's (Like me!) are a bunch of miserable scrotes if I'm going to be honest.

I wave at anything with an Alfa badge whether it be new or old, and so far I've only had one freaked out bloke sort of wave back, lol

Spiders and GTV owners are best! Not enough Alfas in Exeter to get a regular chance and with the weather recently Ive been looking at the road rather than grills coming the other way! Still if I see ya i'll wave!

Re: south west wavers

I'm in Bristol and can't remember the last time anyone responded to my wave in either the 145 or 147. Just bought a GTV though so perhaps that will be more successful. Wife thinks I'm bonkers when I wave she just doesn't get it!

Will keep an eye out for you as I do Bristol to Taunton every day but in car share so only in Alfa once or twice a week. By coincidence got a wave from a red 146 on Park Street at lunchtime today are you out there?

Re: south west wavers

Must admit, I gave up waving some years back (in my 146), due to minimal response. Now on my second Alfa, the urge to wave is back but I seem to have forgotten how to do it. Difficult to know who the Alfisti are.

Having said this, a chap in a silver 156 2.5 Veloce kind of saved my bacon the otherday when I ran out of road overtaking a truck (dual lane merging to single). He kept his speed up and pulled in at the last minute giving me room to tuck in behind rather than having to hit the brakes. Just a good and observant driver or a figment of my imagination perhaps ? Just maybe a 156 looking out for her little sister

Not quite a wave but as good as in my book ...

Re: south west wavers

I always wave to 164s, but there's just so many 156s and 147s, I don't bother. I waved to an Italian plated 164 stuck in traffic last year, but I think he thought I was some sort of mental case.

My neighbour's got a spider, but when I said, "nice car" to him shortly after we moved in, he ignored me.

Re: south west wavers

Yep, I'm in Exeter too, quite central. I've seen a black spider a few times, there cant be many about! I'm in a pearlescent black 156, so if you get a wave thats me!
I was going out on Topsham road yesterday, at the lights by Burnthouse lane, traffic was clogged up and everyone was moving around a broken down car in the ouside lane at the lights. When I got to it, it turned out to be a silver 156 SW sele - wonder if thats anyone around here!

Did you wave at him?!!

I think I'm the only black spider, seen a blue one and a yellow one but not for a while. I'll keep my eyes open for you, do you use Sidwell motors or Auto Italiana BTW?
