Bristol 28/04/07 Fine weather, Fine cars.
Thank you Bristol for a good day out in the sun.
Hope everyone else enjoyed it, look forward to any photos posted as I forgot my camera. Just one gripe, how did the majority of Alfas end up on a side street with very few onlookers ?

Well we did miss you Stuart

Anyway, it was nice to meet Explosive Alfa, Moto748 and GaryGumball...and Mudhut later in the day - sorry we missed you at lunch time.

Nice pix, Gary, are they yours? Top day out and well done to Lynn, whose pie-searching skillz were severely tested..

On a less happy note, I wasn't impressed to get home and find this:
It's a "magic marker" kinda thing; not water based. I attacked it with kitchen roll and paraffin, and I'm going to do Stage II now with T-Cut.

I would guess its spirit based, could try a little alcohol. Or tar remover? T-cut should do it, but try less abrasive first.

Re: Bristol 28/04/07 Fine weather, Fine cars.
Keith> The paraffin was pretty effective.
T-Cut should finish the job.
Still damned annoying, though, as I'm sure you can imagine.
Stupid thing is, instead of driving to the pub on Friday nights as I often do, and having to walk back to collect it Sat morning, this weekend I decided to be a good boy and walk to the pub. Sad truth is, the car's safer in the pub car-park on a Friday night than it is parked in the street. Numerous incidents have taught me that.

Yes, I'm sorry too as I must have walked right past the assembled group at five past one. Nice to chat to you and Gibbo later on.
Next time then ...

Great day out, it was my first time. What a great lline up of Spiders! Also slightly disappointed to be tucked away in Small Street but it did mean I could leave without any holdups at the end.
What really puzzled me was in the motorbike area. Since when did the Italians make Suzuki or Yamaha or Kawazaki motorbikes?

Hi Tankman
Glad you enjoyed the day
Regarding the motorbikes, it should have been a purely Italian show, but the bikes don't need passes and the bike clubs organised themselves. If a few Japanese bikes sneaked in they shouldn't have been parked up with the rest of them, but unfortunately we couldn't do anything about that
It was a shame too that a resident refused to move their scruffy green Cougar and it ended up right in the middle of the main display area The residents get loads of notice of the show and are asked to move their cars for one day only, most are happy to do so. But apparently this one got really arsey and refused. Anyway, I think he got a ticket for his troubles

I'm getting loads of positive comments by Email from entrants. Many thanks to all who helped out on the day. Just so that nobody forgets - the whole event was organised by the AROC Gloucester & South Section with the help of the Ducati Desmo Owners Club, Bristol branch.

Re: Bristol 28/04/07 Fine weather, Fine cars.
I liked the cougar ! There was also a corsa around the corner which was also worth a look. Anyway, who looks at motorbikes anyway?
Highlight of my day was in a packed Subway. Without knowing what I was saying, I shouted across to the wife who was sitting down "Do you want a foot long or is six inches enough?"
I couldn't understand why the guy next to me was until I sat down, and my wife explained why
