Right then guys and girlies, the promised meeting's finally arrived!

The exact route's still up for tweaks and general sharing of amazing roads - but I would suggest us meeting at 7pm in the main Malpas car park - good opportunity to get a couple of pics before it gets dark, closely followed by a convoy in the general direction of the King Harry Ferry (Amazingly, driving straight past the Punchbowl and ladle in time for a quick non-alcoholic beverage and a bit to eat), taking in the scenery as we go.

With a bit of time on my hands I've been exploring all sorts of areas for driving, namely the B roads between Camborne, redruth and Falmouth, but am completely open to suggestions!

Is this for the Cornwall area then? Or is it more at the east end of the south west?

Re: The lanes and a ferry called Harry - Wed 16th July

morning everyone - Right, the plan is as follows:

7.00: meet at Malpas main car park

7.30: arrive at the punchbowl and ladle for drinks and indeed food

8.20: Crossing to the roseland on K.H.F

Then drive back around the roseland, up towards tregony, and back towards truro through tresillian.

Should qualify for a few photos and a bit of mileage!

Re: The lanes and a ferry called Harry - Wed 16th July

Can't see it happening so I'm going to gently decline on this evening, just a bad week for me to get a free evening.

Happy Birthday Martijn, sorry I can't make it. If it was friday evening I'd be able to show up.

Re: The lanes and a ferry called Harry - Wed 16th July

Still waiting to hear from Kelv but it does look like only 3 at the moment.

Malpas car park... use "Malpas Rd @50.254122, -5.039082" to get directions with maps.google.co.uk. Basically, go through Truro on the A39 as if you were going to St Austell, across Tescos roundabout. At the next roundabout (the one with Halfords on your left), take the last exit, almost back on yourself alongside the river. Keep going for about a mile and the carpark in on your right hand side.

Would it be easier if we all just met at Tescos instead of Malpas?

Start a thread in the Image lounge, and if you all took pics, put them in the one thread

I'll have to try and make your next one

Re: The lanes and a ferry called Harry - Wed 16th July

good good. Will do, new thread on the way! Put a link in here?

I'm thinking it's not a bad idea to have small local meets frequently, with huge regional ones as a treat occasionally too?

Tonight definitely went well.

Re: The lanes and a ferry called Harry - Wed 16th July

Sure, post a link in here, then those looking in will see what a cracker they missed

It's a great idea for you guys to hold a regular mini meets, as it is hard for me to organise regular things down your way being stuck in Bristol - I don't know the area at all! As I said though, I will try and get down sometime soon and get an idea of that part of my region
