***** CANCELLED *****

Right guys, got this one in the planning!

A drive out for us lot to sunny Weymouth!! Depending on the weather and the time, if anyone fancied we could continue on to either Portland, or east or west along the coast! Just posted this to get an idea of numbers first!

We plan to meet up at Podimore services near Yeovil on the A303 for a 9am set off, we want to beat the crowds at the beach. Ray also wants to get his dinghy blown up and out on the water too!

So, the last weekend of July - Alfa drivers, a beach, some SPF30 and Ray's dinghy!! Get your names down NOW!!

I ofcourse won't be in an alfa but I should be there. Maybe me and Ray can organise down together (not in the same car ofcourse) so I look less silly. :D After all, a Fiat is Alfa's brother. ;)

Hammy, I can't make this one - we're decorating at the minute and the bloomin' plumbers have taken too long with the bathroom...which now means us painting this weekend. Joy. I'll keep a keen eye out for the next one though. Have a good 'un!

Re: AOSW Drive out to Weymouth, Sunday 27th July

Good call Ray. A final idea of definites is needed (including myself!) Myself and Ray will get final plans sorted, and hopefully from what I have seen, there will be a very sunny Sunday to be had!

Two of my friends aren't coming anymore, one is still coming though so it's not a complete bust though.

I unfortunately am a definite no now. I can't justify the fuel bill with current situation. And no one is passing my way with whom I can steal a lift. God damn £1.17 a litre economy

Re: AOSW Drive out to Weymouth, Sunday 27th July **CANCELLED**

Okay....

I've just finished speaking to Ray, and we have come to the decision to cancel this meet. With just three members remaining as a definite 'Yes', and no one has updated themselves from a 'Maybe', it is deemed a long distance to travel for this meet with such a timid turn-out. It does upset me to have to cancel the meet, as any event is a great opportunity to meet with new and existing members.

I guess the timing is unfortunate due to school holidays, people away and others working... Lets look onwards and upwards to the next meet and hopefully wake up the sleepy AOSW!

Regards,

Simon

Re: AOSW Drive out to Weymouth, Sunday 27th July

Sorry to see that you had to pull the plug , guys , sounded like a fun day.
Technical issues have put me out , but I should be mobile by mid-day , if anyone fancies a similar , but low-key miniminimeet ?

Re: AOSW Drive out to Weymouth, Sunday 27th July

Glad to hear you should be okay by mid-day!

It's not an action I like to take, and it was thought through very much before a decision was made. Hopefully people will be more willing to get off their bums for the next one

Academic now , but I reckon a good few more would have shown-up come the day.
A 2-hour run for me , but I'm sure a good few more local types were going to wait & see how the weather looked in the morning before commiting..A trip to the seaside doesn't seem that much of a treat in the rain , does it ?

My god. Just about to go to the pub and was going to leave early so that I'd be able to drive tomorrow. Thought I'd check the site to see if there were any mobile numbers posted in case I overslept and I see it's been cancelled. No worries guys, seeing the traffic today, I'm not sure it would be that great an idea. Journey time for the five or six miles between Dorch Vegas and Weybiza today was about an hour and a half.

Shame as it was so close, this looked like one I couldn't refuse! Hopefully I'll be able to make it to the next one.

Re: AOSW Drive out to Weymouth, Sunday 27th July *Cancelled*

Just got home from Looe - asked wife to plot course to Dorchester with a view to finding you all in Weymouth. After all how hard can it be to spot a load of AO types?

Well she ballsed the route part up (as usual) so we came home on the A303. Glad she made a mess of it now!
